“Seoul Night & Neons” no es solo una colección de fotografías; es un mapa visual de la psique coreana al caer el sol. Mientras que el día en Seúl pertenece a la eficiencia, el acero y el cristal, la noche pertenece al gas neón, al LED y a la vibración de una ciudad que se niega a dormir.
Este proyecto captura la transición de Seúl hacia una estética cyberpunk tangible, donde la tradición de los callejones estrechos se fusiona con la vanguardia tecnológica de sus rascacielos. A través de este objetivo, he buscado documentar el año 2025: un momento cumbre antes de que la fisonomía urbana cambie para siempre.
Cada lugar explora una faceta distinta de la luz nocturna: Saturación Vertical (Myeong-dong): La luz como reclamo comercial. Fotografías que capturan la densidad, el ruido visual y la energía frenética del consumo. El Neón Nostálgico (Euljiro): Un homenaje a la “vieja guardia”. Letreros de metal y cristal soplado que sobreviven entre talleres industriales, representando la resistencia de lo analógico frente a lo digital.
Juventud y Movimiento (Hongdae): El neón como escenario. Retratos ambientales donde la luz de los karaokes y clubes baña la piel de una generación que vive de noche. Ficciones Futuristas (Gangnam): La arquitectura de la luz. Grandes pantallas LED y geometrías perfectas que nos transportan a una realidad de ciencia ficción. Sombras y Silencios (Itaewon): El contraste entre el brillo de las avenidas y la oscuridad de las cuestas, donde la luz de los neones sirve como único guía.

“Seoul Night & Neons” is not merely a collection of photographs; it is a visual map of the Korean psyche after sunset. While the day in Seoul belongs to efficiency, steel, and glass, the night belongs to neon gas, LEDs, and the pulse of a city that refuses to sleep.
This project captures Seoul’s transition into a tangible cyberpunk aesthetic, where the tradition of narrow alleyways merges with the technological vanguard of its skyscrapers. Through this lens, I have sought to document the year 2025—a pivotal moment before the urban landscape changes forever.
Each location explores a distinct facet of nocturnal light: Vertical Saturation (Myeong-dong): Light as a commercial lure. Photographs capturing the density, visual noise, and frenetic energy of consumerism. Nostalgic Neon (Euljiro): A tribute to the “old guard.” Metal and blown-glass signs surviving amidst industrial workshops, representing the resilience of the analog in the face of the digital. Youth and Movement (Hongdae): Neon as a stage. Environmental portraits where the light from karaoke bars and clubs bathes the skin of a generation that lives by night. Futurist Fictions (Gangnam): The architecture of light. Massive LED screens and perfect geometries transporting us to a sci-fi reality. Shadows and Silences (Itaewon): The contrast between the glow of the avenues and the darkness of the hillside slopes, where neon light serves as the only guide.
